SOUNDTRACKS
Music from a motion picture can benifit or harm a movie.  I have seen some great movies with awesome songs but it did not fit the ambience of the film, which is unfortunate because it would have made the film even more enjoyable. And some potentially awesome films with horrid music (which ultimatley ruined the film).  It is imperative that the songs are catered to the film or vice versa in that the song inspired the adaptation.  The original scores and tracks from compiled artists come hand in hand.  A movie would not be able to survive if it only has good songs; it needs the original scores to be felicitously significant because you can anticipate what is coming up in the next scene by just the scores (like the protagoinist in the horror movie approaching a dangerous scene).  The music is the heart beat of the movie and the actors and plot is the body that interprets the film.  Imagine a silent film without music; it would be quite boring and it wont convey the themes properly.  The ambience gives you this innate feeling of how the rest of the film will ensue.   One scene can be interpreted very differently dependending on the track that is overlaying the scene. Imagine the Rocky movies without the song when he is running up those steps.  I have not even watched the film and dont even know what that song is called or who its written or performed by, however, when I hear the track I know which movie and which scene it came from.  So after all that rambling, here is the section with my favorite soundtracks.  Just click the image to get to the review.

Garden state ost. something to chill to.   one of the most original movies out there that seem to resonate with me. so enjoy.

Cruel Intentions soundtrack is up for review!  love the tracks.  the movie is pretty much dangerous liaisons, but with teenagers.  think gossip girl big screen and set in the late 90's to early millennium.  enjoy!

Twilight ost is up for review! watched the movie and really enjoyed the soundtrack.  as for the movie, i kind of expected it to be meteocre.  but when you have pattinson, who cares :)

The Queen of the damned ost is one of my favorite soundtracks.  It has all the songs to keep you going.  Its obviously a compilation of heavier rock/metal/electronica tracks by plenty of worthy bands.  The movie was mediocre compared to the book; however, still worth the time and you get one of aliyah's last performances (I think it was the last before her tragic passing).  Click the image for the review.
