Lady Gaga's debut alubum, The Fame was releaesed in 2008. She is renown for her eclectic style- both fashion and music. Gaga released a good 4 or 5 singles from The Fame, which is quite a few tracks coming from only one album. Tracks such as "poker face," paparazzi," and "just dance" are catchy as hell.
Gaga's music and fashion style are glam rock and pop. Her album is filled with dance tracks that anyone can enjoy. Her songs are a good blend of the 80's and 90's dance music. Think Davie Bowie, Queen, Madonna, and the late MJ when it comes to the musical and fashion influence. Her singing style tends to mirror Gwen Stefani. Her vocals are meteocre. She does not have the Beyonce or Christina Agulara voice, but that does not matter because her persona and hooky dance tracks are more than enough to attract a cult following. They all flock to uniqueness. To be honest, I do not even know how she looks. Only her ecentric style and make up are prevalent. And that's all that matters in an industry that is all about being able to keep up and leading the rest of the pack. Lady Gaga possesses all those things and her performances are always entertaining. She will be performing live at the vmas tonight and im sure it will be epic. She has this bold persona and style that simply drives the industry right now.
She loves her paparrazi and is not afraid to show it. In many ways she could be mocking the industry and providing a great satire and no one will even notice (or want to notice). The millenium is all about selling yourself to the media and the one that can stay fresh prevails. "Selling out" no longer exists; media is driven by the world of business and fame. Years from now, she will still be referenced and revered regardless of her longevity in this industry.
Will she be a one album wonder? a fad/novelty act? or will she sustain her fame and continue to lead the pack with dance tracks and eccentric fashion? who knows but for now, she is here to stay and influence other artists to do the same.
So after all the rambling about the industry of being famous, all I can say is Lady Gaga knows what the public craves and is feeding them what they want. Her songs are great to listen to on the radio, for me; however, I'm sure most of you will be hitting the clubs with this one. So pop her record it into whatever media player you have and "just dance."
